I’ve teamed up with the wonderful Muddie Buddies Studio in Bountiful, Utah to offer a really fun workshop for beginners! Join us for a relaxed one-night watercolor sketching workshop—ideal for either a date night or just to treat yourself to a creative evening. Enjoy light refreshments while you learn easy, expressive pen-and-watercolor techniques. Our friendly, judgment-free class emphasizes play over perfection, so you can try loose lines, washes, and color mixing in a supportive setting. No experience needed—bring curiosity and leave with a small finished sketch and new skills.

Schedule: 1 session from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Friday, January 23 2026

Tuition is $35 per person without materials or $85 per person if you would like to purchase your materials from me.

Here is a list of the required materials. You are welcome to bring your own materials OR purchase them from me by choosing that option below.

• Watercolor sketchbook - I like this pad from Strathmore as it’s good quality for the price

• Brush(es) - there are so many brushes available… don’t get overwhelmed. I use a single inexpensive round brush by Grumbacher (size 8) for almost everything I do, but feel free to bring as many as you like. I’ll bring some extras you can try out as well.

• Watercolor paints - I’m not picky about specific colors but at least a handful of different colors is best. You can buy individual color tubes or sets. Some of my favorite colors include: Paynes Gray, Cadmium Orange, Cerulean Blue, Sap green, and Burnt Sienna. I like Winsor & Newton brand but there are many great options out there.

• Palette - this can be as simple or as fancy as you like, you just need a place to mix your paint. Here is one I like. Some paint sets come with a palette.

• Waterproof pens - Sakura Micron pens are a great option. I like a few different sizes to get different looks.

• We’ll provide plastic cups for water.
